  • Job-Seeker Permit: Allows skilled workers to stay in Norway to search for a job.
  • Self-Employed Persons: For individuals establishing their own business in Norway.

2. General Requirements

For Skilled Workers:

  1. Job Offer: You must have a concrete job offer from a Norwegian employer, and the job must meet certain conditions such as full-time employment and a salary in line with Norwegian standards.
  2. Education/Qualifications:
    • University degree or equivalent (e.g., bachelor’s or master’s).
    • Vocational training equivalent to at least three years of secondary school.
  3. Employment Contract: A signed contract from your employer detailing the job, salary, and conditions.
  4. Salary Requirements:
    • Minimum salary must be in accordance with Norwegian regulations for your occupation.

For Seasonal Workers:

  1. A contract for a seasonal job from a Norwegian employer.
  2. Proof of adequate housing.
  3. The job must not replace full-time employment that could be filled by a local worker.

3. Application Process

  1. Find a Job in Norway:
    • Secure a job offer from a Norwegian employer before applying.
  2. Gather Documents:
    • Passport and recent photos.
    • Employment contract or job offer.
    • Proof of educational qualifications and work experience.
    • Documentation of accommodation in Norway.
    • Completed application form (submitted online or at the Norwegian Embassy/Consulate in Bangladesh).
  3. Submit Application:
    • Apply online through the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration (UDI) website.
    • Pay the application fee.
    • Submit biometrics and documents at the Norwegian Embassy or Visa Application Centre in Bangladesh.
  4. Processing Time:
    • Typically 1–3 months, depending on the type of permit.

4. Additional Notes

  • English proficiency may be required, depending on the job.
  • Seasonal work permits are usually valid for up to six months.
  • Skilled worker permits are typically issued for the duration of the employment contract (up to three years) and are renewable.
