You must have a valid job offer or an employment contract from a Norwegian employer.

The position must comply with Norwegian standards for pay and working conditions.

Skilled Worker Requirement

You need to qualify as a skilled worker, meaning:

You have completed higher education equivalent to a bachelor's degree.

OR you have vocational training (at least three years in a relevant trade).

OR you have relevant work experience combined with professional skills.

 Documentation Required

You need to submit the following documents:

Valid Passport

Signed job offer/contract: Includes details like salary, job role, and working hours.

Proof of education and relevant qualifications (translated into English or Norwegian).

CV/resume showing work experience.

Documentation of any licenses or certifications needed for the job (e.g., healthcare professionals).

Completed Norwegian residence permit application form.


Salary and Conditions

The job must offer a salary that meets the minimum threshold for skilled workers in Norway:

For skilled workers: NOK 439,900 annually (approximately).

Working conditions must align with Norwegian laws and regulations.


Proof of Accommodation

You must prove that you have suitable housing arrangements in Norway.


Application Submission

Apply for the work permit through the Norwegian Embassy/Consulate in your home country or the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration (UDI) online portal.


Processing Time

Processing times for work permits can range from 1 to 3 months, depending on the country and type of application.


Fee

You need to pay a non-refundable application fee. The fee for a residence permit for work purposes is approximately NOK 6,300 (subject to updates).


Additional Points

If you are planning to stay in Norway for more than 90 days, a residence permit is mandatory.

Once your permit is approved, you can enter Norway, and your work visa/residence permit will be issued upon arrival.

Some occupations, like health workers or engineers, may require additional certifications or verification from Norwegian regulatory bodies.
